Remediation of groundwater contaminated by olive processing waste
Long term acceptance of olive pickling wastes have contaminated the treated wastewater percoloation ponds, underlying soils, and groundwater under a small city's wastewater treatment plant. The city has begun the process of remediating this contamination. This paper describes the initial conceptual work done to prepare for the remediation effort, including eliminating further contamination and cleaning the soil and groundwater.
