Firm-specific determinants of the comprehensiveness of mandatory disclosure in the corporate annual reports of firms listed on the stock exchange of Hong Kong
Our study selected Hong Kong for testing the multivariate impact of selected firm characteristics on corporate annual reports (CARs). This was accomplished through an examination of the cross-sectional variation in the researcher-created indexes of the comprehensiveness of the mandatory information contained in the CARs of a sample of firms listed on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong (SEHK). Our study provides evidence that the researcher-created indexes vary positively with asset size and the scope of business operations but negatively with profits.
