Coatings based on high entropy alloys: An overview
Coatings are required to keep a substrate material safe for a longer period in different environments. The selection of coating material greatly influences the cost and availability of material to be a coat. In this series, high entropy alloys (HEAs) materials are in high demand due to their outstanding mechanical, physical, and chemical properties. This work is an overview of high entropy alloys coatings including basics of HEAs and HEAs-based films, processing routes, and superior properties such as -corrosion, wear, electrical, magnetic, hardness, etc. Due to these characteristics, HEAs and related materials are promising candidates for various engineering and industrial applications.
